So nice to have an evening of relaxing in the hot tub and catching up. Thanks to our professional baker and 2nd year au pair, we enjoyed delicious birthday cupcakes. Love all of the girls!
Reno is known for nature and outdoor activities so a hike in local Galena Forest was perfect for these outdoorsy au pairs. And with a growing group, we added another meeting for a Friday night dinner at the Food Trucks.
Many laughs and all around thrilling au pair meeting at Need 2 Speed. Not surprising the winner out of our au pair group has a dad who races cars. It’s in Schane’s blood! Congratulations Schane for zipping around the track in record speed.
It’s just hard to predict a slow time at the station. Even at one of the slowest stations in Reno, we now know that three emergency calls (out of a total of 6-10 a day) can happen within our scheduled tour time. Still a great afternoon seeing the host families, au […]
This meeting was a special request from our departing au pair, Veronica. It was her pick on her last meeting before she left for her new family in San Francisco. Although not all of us climbed, all of us did chat and make new au pair introducations.
Sometimes sitting around a big table catching up in 2017 is enough, and The Basement is a fantastic hangout to do so.
This group of au pairs is busy traveling and making memories in their year in Reno so I love to have a quiet meeting to catch up with all of them and hear about their trips. A couple just visited Florida and a few others were heading to NYC. I […]
In addition to our monthly meeting, I love to catch up with these amazing au pairs mid week now and then for a coffee, a tea or some hot chocolate. This is especially nice as the temperatures drop this time of year. We easily colored 35 hands for this awesome […]
Our au pair meeting and evening at Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality was an amazing experience. What a great way to give back to our Reno community as we head into the holiday season. We all prepared and cooked warm and comforting dishes like chili, Spanish tortilla, rice and […]
Although most au pairs understand little about American football, they love the opportunity to head to the UNR football tailgating and game. It’s quite an event to share in the thrill with thousands of fans. It’s loud and rowdy and the au pairs join right in the excitement.
Most amazing host family event ever. I think everyone will agree that The Doodlbe Bus kept the kids occupied and entertained so the parents and au pairs could take a moment to meet each other and chat. I’m naming this the First Annual Doodle Bus Event. Thank you so much Natalia […]
Love these au pairs. Check out pictures from our latest au pair meeting, a Mocktail Mixx and Swim Party. The winner of our Mocktail Competition (it was so tough to pick our favorite) goes to Adela, Theresa and Jana for their Sweet TAJ creation! They’ll be heading off to Victoria […]
Beautiful hike in Galena forest with a perfect cupcake ending. Many thanks to Dafne for baking such amazing and beautiful cupcakes.
The rodeo was a first for all these au pairs. Bareback and bull riding, steer wrestling and mutton bustin’, there was so much action to check out. Most agreed we loved the barrel racing and the mutton bustin’ with the record 18 second ride on a calmly trotting sheep!
What a wonderful day with my host moms and au pairs for a tea. With several selections of teas and infused water, who knew that the most popular drink was the Turmeric Golden Milk Tea? The healing properties and the delicious taste were a hit! And a big welcome to our newest au pair Maxi […]
Count those Pizookies! There are 7 Pizookies and just 6 au pairs. Many thanks to the waiter who decided he should toss in one extra (6 just wasn’t enough) and told us to pretend it was someone’s birthday. So happy early birthday Jana! How could a waiter resist extra attention to […]
March found our group at a private pole dancing class at Epic Pole Fitness in Sparks. Requested by au pairs with pole dancing experience, this event was hilarious! Lunch at Blind Onion was great too.
For our January au pair meeting we joined the Truckee group. We all enjoyed a beautiful afternoon with a bit of light snow, ice skating, and tea with the Tahoe au pairs.
A small group but a great morning of eating and talking and talking and eating. Beautiful cookies from the Czech Republic and also some of the US.
In Historic Virginia City, Nevada you’ll find The Washoe Club. It’s not your normal three story brick building, it’s the most popular haunted location in the west. These brave au pairs dared to enter and all came with big smiles. Although we heard about Scott who haunts one of the […]
What a fun afternoon at the University of Reno football game against the University of New Mexico. Each month finds us at a new event or activity but the main attraction is always spending time with the au pairs. You all are the best! Awesome afternoon watching UNR beat the University of […]
Our host family and au pair potluck featured delicious treats from around the world. We had amazing kaiserschmarrn (dessert pancakes) served with a plum sauce from Austria, delicious mrkvovy kolaca, (carrot cake) from Slovakia, both beautiful and tasty Argentianian empanadas, hovězí guláš (goulash soup) from the Czech Republic and All American hot dogs and […]
Our August au pair meeting found us at the Aces baseball game. Although there was some watching and some chatting, everyone had a great time! We now know the newest au pairs, Kinga and Adriana and know that they both speak German, both have older brothers and much younger brothers […]
A fun night at Break Through Reno where we were trapped at a famous killer’s venue, known as “The Mask”. We gathered evidence, solved clues, unlocked locks and were so close to solving the mystery and escaping.
